Laser Therapy
Ridgefield Animal Hospital offers laser therapy, an innovative, painless, drug-free treatment that reduces pain and promotes healing for pets that have wounds, surgical incisions, burns, and chronic or acute conditions such as arthritis. We do post-op laser therapy with all of our surgery patients to help their recovery time.
Laser therapy uses low level lasers to stimulate the natural healing capabilities of the body’s cells. This therapy is effective at promoting healing on a cellular level as well as reducing inflammation, swelling, muscle spasms, stiffness, and pain. It can also accelerate tissue repair and cell growth, improve circulation and nerve function, reduce scar tissue formation, and help the immune system fend off infection.
Laser therapy causes no adverse effects on healthy cells. As the injured area returns to normal, function is restored and pain is relieved, allowing your pet to quickly return to his or her normal activities. Relief and/or improvement is often noticed within hours depending on the condition and your pet’s response.
Ridgefield Animal Hospital provides pain management services including laser therapy for pets in Thibodaux, Houma, Morgan City, Raceland, Lockport, and all the towns in between.
